Employee type: part-time hourly, up to 35 hours per week

Pay rate: $20.00 - $25.00 depending on experience

Time commitment: Monday through Friday, varied hours based on assignment. Some weekend availability would be helpful.

General Laborer

Montpelier, VT and local area

The General Laborer plays a crucial supporting role in maintaining and repairing facilities, ensuring the integrity and overall upkeep of our client’s properties, both structural and landcare. This position involves collaboration with the Property Manager and local contractors to perform duties such as general construction help, cleaning, landscaping, and snow removal. The role is designed for individuals who are eager to develop a long-term career in property maintenance and are expected to foster community and the well-being of all individuals while being consistent with the goals & objectives of the company.

  • Ability to read and follow labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
  • Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety
  • Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers

  • Performs various physical duties as assigned
  • Basic math like reading a measuring tape
  • Effectively using hand tools and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment.
  • Moving tools, equipment, or other material as directed
  • Demonstrated experience or willingness to learn building science
  • Help in a supporting role on repairs on buildings
  • Landscaping & snow removal duties as assigned
  • May be assigned routine maintenance checks and tasks, ie: keep salt buckets full, put down salt on staircases if icy
  • On days with significant snowfall, help with shoveling and snow blowing as needed
Physical requirements:
  • Walking, including stairs and paved slopes
  • Ability to sit in a pickup truck
  • Lifting up to 50lbs, more as a Team Lift
  • Intense cardio work in the form of snow shoveling
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • High school diploma is an asset
  • Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
  • Reliable transportation
